Brian and Katie weren't supposed to meet each other. They were both being set up with other people and somehow ended up connecting anyway. They're from Atlanta, did their engagement session in Nashville, and chose New Orleans in November for the wedding. Race and Religious felt right. It usually does for the right people.
Katie had a nervous energy in the morning that I recognized immediately — the good kind, the kind that comes from actually caring. It stayed with her through getting ready, through the first look with her dad, all the way up until she saw Brian. He's got this lively, grounding presence that's hard to explain until you watch it work on someone. The moment she saw him, something in her just settled. That was the day from there.
The ceremony was lighthearted but real — a few laughs, a few tears that showed up without anyone planning for them. The reception was everything after.
The night ended with a second line through the streets of New Orleans. Brian led the whole thing like he'd been planning it his entire life. These two were easy to be around — loose, free, not performing anything. Just two people who love each other in one of the most alive cities in the world.
