They flew in from China.

We didn’t share a language.

Not really.

There was no long conversation about posing.
No over-explaining.
No rehearsed direction.

Just gestures.
Smiles.
Eye contact.
Trust.

This wasn’t their ceremony day —
it was a formal portrait session.
Time carved out just to move slowly through Yosemite in wedding attire.
To let the light fall where it wanted.
To let the mountains witness it.

Some moments were quiet.
Some were playful.
Most of it lived somewhere in between.

It reminded me that connection doesn’t need translation.

It just needs presence.
